This latest release focuses on refined conversion settings, a simplified user interface, and substantial improvements to your online account management.
Optimized Default Conversion Settings for Rapid Results
Scan2CAD now offers more intuitive and accessible control over your conversion settings. From selecting specific objects to fine-tuning individual tolerances, you have granular control over every aspect of the process. Understanding that choosing the right settings can be daunting for new users, we’ve redesigned their presentation.
All conversion parameters are now neatly organized under a new Settings button. A conversion begins the moment you click ‘Convert’, allowing you to focus first on obtaining immediate results and then refine settings as needed. If the initial output requires adjustment, simply modify your settings and reconvert.
Acaddes Pro-Tip: For those just getting started, we recommend selecting the preset that best matches your use case. You can always fine-tune the details afterward to achieve perfect accuracy.
Streamlined Interface: Relocated Drawing Tools
You may notice that Scan2CAD’s drawing tools are now hidden by default. To access them, simply navigate to View > View Drawing Tools.
This adjustment was implemented because new users sometimes mistakenly assumed Scan2CAD was intended to replace their full CAD editor. While Scan2CAD includes fundamental drawing tools for quick, minor edits, detailed design work remains best executed in your primary CAD application. The drawing tools are still readily available for small tweaks before exporting, but for anything more substantial, we advise exporting your DXF/DWG file and continuing your workflow in your dedicated CAD software.
Enhanced Online Account & License Management
If you’ve recently logged into your Scan2CAD online account, you might have already observed significant enhancements. Over the past year, we’ve introduced several improvements designed to make account and license management more transparent and user-friendly:
- You can now view the activation status of all your licenses, including who activated each one—a major convenience for teams managing multiple seats.
- Switch from monthly to yearly billing, or change your subscription tier, directly from your account without the need to cancel your existing plan first.
- License installation instructions now appear directly beneath each license, along with relevant download links.
- The overall account interface has been simplified and modernized for a cleaner, more intuitive experience.
